Poll – Can Newcastle Make It 7 Wins In A Row At Preston?

Thursday, October 27th, 2016 · 9 Comments

We have now won 13 of our 17 total games this season and 13 of the last 15 games after we lost the first two at Fulham and at home to Huddersfield so Newcastle have been in good form so far this season and the results are quite good.

We also have 10 clean sheets.

And while having a good cup run is great, our number one priority is getting promoted back to the Premier League and therefore we have to concentrate and go all out for the 3 points at Deepdale on Saturday.

We’re sure Rafa Benitez will make that very clear tomorrow in his press conference for the game and that the cup run is simply a bonus for the club.

Striker Attempts To Explain What He Was Trying To Do

Thursday, October 27th, 2016 · 5 Comments

Aleksandar Mitrovic made a good return to form and scored a brace for us on Tuesday night in the 6-0 rout of Preston North End at St. James’ Park in the EFL Cup.

That took us through to the last eight of the competition where we will travel to the KCOM Stadium to face Hull City late next month.

Please let me take it – please – I’ve already scored one!

Here’s Why Newcastle At Hull Is A Good Draw For Us

Thursday, October 27th, 2016 · 10 Comments

We didn’t get Leeds United at home, which would have been the best draw for us and would have paired the only two remaining non Premier League clubs together in the EFL Cup quarter-final, but we did get Hull, even through it’s an away tie.

It would have been nice to have Hull City at home in front of another sold out St. James’ Park, but as far as Newcastle’s form goes this season we are now a very good team on the road, which is very unlike last season under Steve McClaren.

He’s In Awe Of The Fans – My Heart Is Full For This Club

Thursday, October 27th, 2016 · 24 Comments

It was really great to Aleksandar Mitrovic start in Tuesday night’s 6-0 win against Preston in the League Cup and late last night we drew Hull away in the quarter finals and so we must have a decent chance of reaching the semi-finals.

Mitro now has three goals this season,  two in the League Cup and one in the Championship,  but it looks like Dwight Gayle will get a start on Saturday at Deepdale, although Rafa usually bring Mitrovic on in the second half.

It’s a game we must win and not collapse like we did the last time we won 6-0 at QPR in mid-week.

Fans have reacted quickly on Twitter to Newcastle being drawn at Hull in the quarter finals of the EFL Cup – with the ties to be played the week of Monday 28th November.

Most fans think this is a good draw for us and it will certainly be a good test against a Premier League side who seem to be struggling at the moment.
