Sissoko Speaks To The Press – Blames Newcastle

Saturday, August 27th, 2016 · 68 Comments

Moussa Sissoko would be well advised not to speak to the French press and he seems to have put his foot in it again today and has blamed Newcastle.

He blames that big bad north-east club he plays for –  for asking too high a fee for him in the trasnfer market – and that’s what is delaying his exit from the club he has wanted to leave for at least two years now.

These Four Players Could Soon Be Joining Newcastle

Saturday, August 27th, 2016 · 12 Comments

Newcastle are closing in on the signings of two players today – Palermo left-back Achraf Lazaar and Chelsea right winger Christian Atsu.

In yesterday’s press conference for the game against Brighton today, some of those names were brought up to Rafa Benitez, but of course he didn’t take the bait and refused to talk about specific players Newcastle may be after.

It still looks like Rafa wants a left back, a winger and a striker brought in before Thursday and if we can get those two players through the door it will only leave a striker to be brought in.

28 year-old Brighton midfielder Beram Kayal seems to be looking forward to the game tonight at Newcastle and he certainly thinks it’s going to be a massive game for Brighton.

The 30 times capped Israeli International joined the south coast club 18 months ago from Celtic, after playing at the Scottish giants for five years.

Rafa Talks About Newcastle’s Striker Options

Saturday, August 27th, 2016 · 22 Comments

It seems to have underlined how short Newcastle are of good strikers with both Dwight Gayle and Aleksandar Mitrovic both out of the game tonight against Brighton after suffering concussions against Cheltenham on Tuesday night.

Newcastle have only two senior recognized strikers available in Manu Riviere and Ayoze Perez, who scored a brace against the fourth division side in the EFL Cup, but there are others who can come in.

Riviere is surplus to requirements at Newcastle and will likely be sent out on loan this season.

The Chronicle is reporting tonight that Newcastle have received six “firm offers” for Moussa Sissoko so far this summer.
